Cavalleria

Lo scoppio del primo conflitto mondiale vede una prima, incerta avanzata oltre il confine da parte della cavalleria. Ma la guerra di posizione che nel giro di breve tempo si determina per opera delle difese austriache e, soprattutto, del micidiale trinomio trincea - reticolato - mitragliatrice, che riduce enormemente le possibilità operative del cavallo.
